New NMC site means better browsing for three million web visitors
Date:20/05/2010
Visitors who log onto the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) website this week will find a faster, easier-to-use system, including exciting new features and layout.
Nurses and midwives, employers, students and members of the public will all have their own dedicated areas on the new site and the clean, clear layout will quickly direct people to the information that they want. NMC Director of Communications Sharon Atkinson said:
“Almost three million people visit our website each year and we want to make sure they get the best experience possible. We’re confident visitors to www.nmc-uk.org will find our new site better organised and easier to use with plenty of exciting new features.”
The new website, which was developed following feedback from regular users, will offer visitors more interactive communications, such as videos and podcasts. Visitors with visual disabilities will also find the site much more accessible and easier to navigate. Those looking for something specific will find the system much simpler to explore thanks to the new quicker, more effective search engine and downloading publications should also be more straightforward. Facilities for receiving online payments will be added later this year. For more information or to check out the new features please visit www.nmc-uk.org
