Planning to work outside of Europe
Planning to work outside of Europe as a nurse or midwife?
To practise outside the UK as a nurse or midwife, you will need to register with the relevant licensing or registration board in that country. They may ask for a certificate of current professional status with the NMC. We call this a verification.
This document confirms your initial registration date, the current status of your registration, your expiry date, the qualifications you hold on our register and your training dates.
If you would like an application pack, please email verifications@nmc-uk.org including your Pin, your full name, address and contact telephone number and the name of the licensing body whom you are applying to.
When you receive the application pack, complete the form and return together with the fee of £34. If you have been given a form by the licensing board, please enclose this with the application form and fee.
You can request a maximum of five verifications on your initial application form. Further requests made at a later date will require another fee.
Once we have received and processed your application form and fee, a verification will be issued within five working days, directly to the licensing or registration board you have noted on your application form. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to you once the verification has been issued. We cannot send the information directly to you, unless you need it for translation purposes.
