Updating your details
You must keep us informed with any changes to your contact details
If your registration lapses, you cannot legally work as a nurse or midwife. It is vital that we have your correct contact details so we can let you know when your registration is due to be renewed.
Has your address changed?
Complete the change of address form. Alternatively, you can notify us by post at our Portland Place office with the following details:
- NMC Pin
- full name
- previous address
- new address.
Because we receive a lot of these requests, we are unable to acknowledge receipt of your letter.
Have you changed your name?
Remember you need to practise in the same name for your NMC registration. This helps employers and the public find the correct information they need regarding your eligibility to practise.
You must notify us in writing at our Portland Place office with the following:
- NMC Pin
- previous name and title
- new name and title
- previous signature and new signature
Please send copies of the relevant certified documentation, for example, a marriage certificate or deed of change of name. We do not accept passports or drivers licenses. Do not send originals as we cannot return them. Once your name has been changed a new copy of your statement of entry will be posted to you.
