Guidance for students
Members of the public cannot always see the difference between a student nurse or midwife, and someone who is qualified and registered with the NMC
That is why your conduct is important in upholding the reputation of the professions, when you are studying and in your personal life. Our guidance sets out the standards of personal and professional conduct for students and is also designed to prepare you for life as a registered nurse or midwife.
Withdrawal of guidance under revised Code
When the revised Code comes into effect on 31 March 2015, we will be withdrawing certain pieces of guidance, including Guidance on professional conduct for nursing and midwifery students
Download: Guidance on professional conduct for nursing and midwifery students [PDF]
It includes information on:
- the role of the NMC
- good health and good character
- your behaviour and conduct
- the Code, and
- asking for help.
