Quality assurance of NMC approved programmes
What you can expect when we quality assure your university
Quality Assurance (QA) is a process to ensure that all NMC approved programmes reach the required standard to protect and maintain patient safety.
Before a programme commences, an approval process takes place, which is overseen by the NMC to confirm the programme reaches the correct standard. Programme approval is taken jointly between the NMC and approved programme provider (the University) and other stakeholders including students. As part of the QA process, the NMC will speak to students.
Once the programmes begin, they are monitored on a yearly basis by the NMC.
We strongly encourage students to participate in approval and monitoring events, when you will be asked to share experiences of your programme and make suggestions for future improvements. These events are an excellent learning opportunity, and you can document these experiences in your portfolio and CV.
